Day Two – The Cheltenham Festival
Battered, bruised and bloodied I come back from a far too ‘predictable’ day one at the 2015 Cheltenham festival
The first thing I am going to say is congratulations to ‘team Mullins’. They really did have the oh so nearly perfect day!! Now in all my time watching the Cheltenham Festival, NEVER have I seen so many ‘sure things’ oblige; it was truly remarkable. So well done Willie and Ricci Rich who deserves credit for investing our money so well into quality breeding stock!
The only negative for me, was dare I say it, it was all a little bit dull. The short priced Irish raiders Douvan, Un De Sceaux and especially Faugheen made a mockery of their top rated ‘rivals’ and heralded a new era in national hunt racing in Britain and Ireland. They won with such ease that you wonder how Seven Barrows and Ditcheat will ever get off the canvas in the coming years!! It goes to show, the right people, with the right money can buy the right horses!
Ironically, the only short priced Mullins horse to fail was Annie Power, who was my NAP of the day. Boy oh boy, was she unlucky to not win, she commanded the race as the others had only to go down at the last. Luckily all is well and rider and horse returned unscathed.
These races yesterday were akin to having a jumping version of Frankel in every race and it doesn’t really make the last two furlongs that exciting. Impressive to see, but not exactly what Cheltenham is about for me personally.
I always have taken on the hot pots at the Cheltenham Festival because the hype rarely delivers
Well yesterday it did and in some style.
So we move on to day two. I have been a little conservative in my retirement plan today. My main accumulator for the day only pays 1.6 MILLION to 1. My theory is overspend with the bookies, just a touch because in reality they won’t all win. HOWEVER having overspent, I stand a good chance of taking the maximum payout even if one of the horses only places.
The more I looked at today’s racing, the less I understood! Last night I was gun-ho with my choices and certain of a massive pay day…..anyway here’s today’s free horse racing tips
